Beginner Korean Roadmap: From Zero to Reading in 7 Days
You don’t need 47 apps. You need a clear order. Here’s a realistic week.
Published on September 14, 2026
Winning order: 1) Hangul, 2) batchim sounds, 3) 50 words + 20 phrases, 4) slow listening daily. No advanced grammar before you can read.
Days 1–2: Hangul only
Simple vowels, basic consonants, CV syllables. Goal: read aloud without translating. 30–45 min/day is enough.
Days 3–4: batchim + soft linking
Learn final consonants and why 한국어 isn’t read as isolated blocks. Listen + repeat.
Days 5–7: survival phrases
안녕하세요, 감사합니다, 얼마예요?, 화장실 어디예요?, 천천히 말해 주세요. Say them until your mouth moves without thinking.
What you skip in week one
No full TOPIK mocks, no 2000 Anki/day, no raw dramas day one. Discipline beats volume.
