T-money is the key to transit. Without it you waste time and money on single tickets.
Published on September 14, 2026
T-money is Korea’s reloadable transit card (subway, bus, some taxis and stores).
Where to buy / top up
Convenience stores, station machines, ticket windows. Cash or card depending on the vendor.
Tap correctly
Tap in and out on the subway. On buses: tap in and out when required. Forgetting exit = max fare.
Transfers
Bus↔subway transfers within the time window cost less than a new trip. Keep using the same card.
