Best Books to Learn Korean in French (Honest Ranking)
I've used (or browsed) every Korean book available in French. Here's my honest ranking after 12 years of practice.
Published on February 23, 2026
Why Books Alone Aren't Enough (But Still Useful)
In 2026, a book alone isn't enough to learn Korean. Missing: audio, interactivity, speaking practice. But a good book remains an excellent complement.
My Ranking
1. "Assimil — Korean" ⭐⭐⭐⭐
100 progressive lessons, included audio, natural dialogues.
2. "Le Bescherelle du coréen" ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best grammar reference. Complete conjugations, clear tables.
3. "Korean Made Simple" (Billy Go) ⭐⭐⭐
Good for beginners. Clear explanations. English only.
Books I Don't Recommend
- "Learn Korean in 30 days" variations: too superficial
- Travel phrase books: outdated and too basic
